The Clubland Database: North America
Your complete, hyperlinked database to the private members' clubs across North America today
This aims to form the fullest possible directory of private members' clubs around the world which still exist today. It does not include extinct or defunct former clubs.
I previously shared with paid subscribers similar hyperlinked lists for Africa, Central America, South America, Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Middle East.
A fully scrollable map of the clubs of North America can be found here.
Key
Years denote foundation
M= Men-only club
W= Women-only club
(Organisations in bold and in brackets are the companies that run a particular club as part of a chain.)
Disclaimer: Inclusion in this list does not constitute an endorsement, and I cannot accept any responsibility for external links, and the content of third-party websites. It is recommended that you check all relevant travel advice when considering visiting any of these destinations.
If you notice any errors, omissions or dead links, please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will be happy to update or amend the directory accordingly. While it is inherently impossible to compile a complete list of all clubs of the world, this is an attempt at the closest possible thing. I should add a particular disclaimer to this listing, as I believe it is proportionately less complete than the other continental listings provided. This is partly because of the concentration here on city clubs, whereas the vast majority of US clubs take the form of country clubs, and this listing does not attempt to capture that, and therefore omits large swathes of US ‘Clubland’, including much of Southern Florida. Furthermore, the list was originally developed as a private scoping resource for my own use rather than as something for sharing. Nevertheless, I believe it tor be a resource of wider interest.
